“I only have amazing things to say about my recent PNI residency in Limerick Printmakers! From the very beginning, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind and made me very excited to start. Communication with the studio director, Jess, before and throughout the residency made everything really easy as she got me set up with and explained their booking system right away, ensuring I could plan travel/accommodation ahead of time.
The studio itself is a lovely space and very well organised. It was a joy to work in it and use their letterpress facilities. Dylan, the studio technician, was really helpful in explaining the studio procedures, showed me how to use the different presses and was always on hand for any questions I had.
The residency was a huge benefit to my practice as it gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in a new process. I came away with a handful of editioned letterpress prints and a body of experimental proofs that already has and will continue to inform future work. This dedicated time also encouraged me to step outside my usual working patterns and reflect upon my current practice.
Throughout the residency, Limerick Printmakers were so accommodating, supportive and generous with their time. Iām so thankful to them and to Print Network Ireland for this wonderful opportunity.”
