Residency: PNI Ballina Arts Centre Residency 2026 recipient announced

Thank you to everyone who applied for this year’s PNI Ballina Arts Centre residency. The selected artist is:

Brigid Mulligan (Limerick Printmakers)

Comhghairdeas mór Brigid! Brigid will spend one week at Ballina Arts Centre Print Studio.

During the residency, Brigid plans to research and develop experimental methods using the process of cyanotype printing, including trial and test printing on alternative surfaces.

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that uses UV light to achieve a myriad of blue tones. She has found the medium of cyanotype lends itself perfectly to express the language of loss, which she explores within her practice.

This residency will support her artistic progression by allowing dedicated time to tease out ideas and to build new communities.

Brigid hopes to deliver a cyanotype workshop to the community in Ballina as well as building connections with the local artist community.

This is the inaugural residency at Ballina Arts Centre for a member of Print Network Ireland (PNI).
